Indigenous youth can build employable skills, gain confidence and learn more about other Indigenous peoples across the world through international work and travel experiences. Global Affairs Canada and International Experience Canada will share stories of how international work and travel are benefiting the personal and professional development of Indigenous youth in Canada.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Learn about two programs that help the development of youth;
  • Learn how international experience helps youth compete for employment opportunities;
  • Learn about intercultural experience with Indigenous communities outside of Canada

Tanya Tulus is a Program Advisor and Policy Analyst with International Experience Canada (IEC). She is responsible for advancing a key component of IEC's broad engagement and promotion strategy – engaging Indigenous youth and communities.

Louise White currently works in International Development at Global Affairs Canada. Since 2017, she has managed youth programs including the International Aboriginal Youth Internships initiative. She previously worked as a peacekeeping advisor and trade commissioner.
